Career Path
My qualifications to practise are:
MA in Integrative Psychotherapy (1998-2000, with Distinction); PG Dip. Psychotherapy (1994-99); Diploma in Integrative Clinical Supervision (2003-2004); Diploma in Relational Couples Therapy (2015-16; 2017-18); BA Psychology (1988).
Whilst training to be a psychotherapist, I held a staff position as a counselling supervisor at ChildLine. After qualifying, initially I worked as a senior practitioner in an inner city counselling agency, before taking up an NHS Psychological Therapies post in the London Borough of Haringey. Based at the Halliwick Psychotherapy Department, I worked for the NHS for seven years, at both primary and secondary care levels, providing time-limited and longer-term therapies to a culturally diverse range of clients presenting with an equally diverse range of psychological experiences.

I consider my tenure in the NHS to have been my second training. Over this period, I also qualified as a clinical supervisor and began working as a trainer and educator in my profession.
In 2010, I moved to the West Country to take up a teaching position with Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC), at the same time establishing the foundations of what was to become a successful psychotherapy practice in central Bristol. In 2015, I began developing a new specialism in couples therapy, embarking on post-qualifying training with the Centre for Relational Couples Therapy (CRCT, Gloucestershire). I completed all elements of CRCT's programme – comprising Certificate and Diploma-level training, clinical practice hours and practitioner supervision – in 2018. In 2020 I completed a further professional development programme at Tavistock Relationships (TR) in London. Since then, I have remained engaged with TR's ongoing programme of lectures and short courses. (tavistockrelationships.org)
