What I offer & fee scales

I offer psychological therapy to individuals and couples, as well as individual and small group supervision to psychotherapists and other helping professionals.

My main office is located in Bristol BS7, where I offer a comfortable consulting room suitable for couples, individuals and small groups.

I also maintain a smaller consulting room in Bristol BS16 for meetings with supervisees and some individual psychotherapy clients.

Psychological Therapy

Clients in individual therapy generally meet with me once weekly for a 50-minute session. While couples often derive the most benefit from weekly sessions too, in practice a more ad hoc arrangement is sometimes called for due to the difficulty of establishing a regular appointment schedule when the ‘client’ is two people rather than one. Couples therapy consultations last for 60 minutes.

As a guide, the fee you pay should place a value on your therapy that is meaningful to you without subjecting you to financial hardship. My standard fees are £70 for an individual consultation and £80 for a couples consultation. This is what you can expect to pay if you are in substantial employment.

There is some scope for negotiation depending on your circumstances. If you are on a limited income, we might agree a lower fee. Feel free to enquire about the availability of concessionary places. If you are a high earner, I will normally suggest a higher fee, up to a maximum £85 for individuals and £100 for couples.

Clinical Supervision

I obtained my Diploma in Integrative Clinical Supervision from CPPD (UK) in 2004 and have been providing supervision to trainee and qualified practitioners since the early 2000’s. The majority of my supervisees are psychotherapists, but I have also worked effectively with psychological well-being practitioners, social workers, counselling psychologists and teams. I approach supervision as a relationship-centred process, as I believe that the quality of the supervisory relationship is key to effective supervision.

As a supervisor to organisations, I have worked with: City and Hackney MIND; Hackney Social Services Leaving Care Team; Haringey IAPT; Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC); Caring in Bristol; and the University of the West of England’s doctoral programme in Counselling Psychology.

My standard fee for clinical supervision is £70 per consultation if self-funded and £75 if an organisation is paying for the supervision. As with therapy fees, there might be some scope for negotiation depending on your circumstances.
